West Ham boss Allardyce admits Newcastle look DOWN

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce admits he could condemn former club Newcastle United to relegation on the final day of the season.

Allardyce, who was sacked by the Toon after just eight months in charge in 2008, admits it does not look good for his old club.

He said: "Other teams are winning. That is putting an awful lot of pressure on Newcastle. They are on the way down and the others are on the way up.

"Their players have a lack of confidence and the players below have a lot of confidence at this stage because they are winning probably more matches than they have all season.

"If Newcastle get one win they are safe. If they do that before we play them only time will tell.

"John has never sat in the position that he is sat in, and as a caretaker as well. That is a hugely difficult job as you cannot give your players the discipline they need.

"They might look at you and say: 'Well you are probably not going to be here next season'. That is a dangerous thing for a football club."
