West Ham United are planning to trump Arsenal for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Daily Mail says Bordeaux had initially wanted £15m for the 25-year-old but have dropped their demands to around the £10m mark following Chamakh's insistence that he will not sign a new contract. His deal expires next summer, when he could walk away for nothing.
West Ham have emerged as bidders, according to French newspaper L'Equipe, though previous interest from Fulham, Blackburn, Tottenham and Sunderland has foundered.
