West Brom's Phillips slams ref: Portsmouth didn't deserve win

West Brom striker Kevin Phillips says ref Howard Webb 'bottled it' when he allowed Portsmouth's winner to stand in yesterday's FA Cup semifinal defeat at Wembley.

Kanu tapped home from close range after Dean Kiely and Zoltan Gera failed to clear Baros' strike at goal, but the Czech striker clearly controlled the ball with his arms before he got his shot in.

"At the end of the day officials tend to bottle big decisions on the big days," Phillips said. "There did seem to be a handball for their goal.

"I'm gutted and I don't think we deserved to lose.

"There's no way Portsmouth deserved to win - they were very lucky."
