West Bromwich Albion are determined to keep hold of technical director Dan Ashworth.

The Daily Express says Ashworth had been tipped to become new technical director after Gareth Southgate turned down the role.

But director of football Sir Trevor Brooking now believes they will restructure their set-up.

He said: "We will probably not name a technical director. With everything that is involved with the Elite Player Performance Plan, you start to think about several areas that might need to be two or three key areas."
