Chris Wood was thrilled to get off the mark so early in his loan spell with Bristol City and is now looking to kick on.
The 20-year old New Zealand international, who joined the Robins from West Bromwich Albion earlier this month, scored the opener in last Saturday's 2-1 home win over Doncaster Rovers and admitted it was a great feeling to net in just his second start for the club.
"It was a great cross from (Cole) Skuse; he just picked me out and I didn't really have to do much. It was just a tap in really.
"It was my sort of goal, I like to get in and around the box. I don't mind a goal from distance either but generally most of my goals come from closer in.""It's always nice to get off the mark early and I'm glad I did that but the important thing is that we got the three points," he told the Bristol City Player.
And Wood, who had a successful loan stint with Birmingham City earlier this season, was hoping to recreate that form when Bristol head to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading tomorrow.
"Hopefully I can put that right this weekend. I'd love to get one there.""I played them earlier in the season for Birmingham and it wasn't a good result. We dominated for much of that game and lost out to a breakaway," he added.
