West Brom's Pulis: Foster had an 'off night'

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis admits goalkeeper Ben Foster had a poor night in the 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

The Baggies gloveman produced a nervy performance in the West Midlands derby, failing to safely hold an early effort from Gabby Agbonlahor before clawing it off the line, before conceding to the Villa forward and then being easily beaten by Christian Benteke's injury-time penalty.

Pulis admitted it wasn't Foster's best showing but knows that the England international is a big enough man to pick himself up for the weekend's FA Cup quarter-final clash with their local rivals at Villa Park.

"I haven't seen it but Ben should catch it anyway," Pulis said of the 16th-minute incident.

"He has been fantastic for us all season, he has won us games and he has had an off night, but there'll be no one here who will criticise him.

"I don't have to speak him, he knows. We'll dust ourselves off and get going on Thursday (in preparation for Saturday)."
