Derby County have failed with a new offer for West Bromwich Albion midfielder George Thorne.

The Birmingham Mail says Derby made an unsuccessful offer of £1million a few weeks ago.

They have returned with another bid of an initial £1.5million but that has also been turned down.

Albion have made it clear that Thorne is not for sale.
