West Brom hope to land Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi.

The Sun says Ameobi is set to quit Newcastle and the Baggies are ready to weigh in with a £2million bid.

Norwich and Ipswich have also shown an interest in the 26 year old, who is rated surplus to requirements by Toon boss Kevin Keegan.

But the hitman wants to stay in the top flight and he plans to make a decision on his future when he returns from his honeymoon next week.
