West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson says the club will not be forced into the winter transfer market because of injuries.
The Baggies have a number players on the sidelines including Jerome Thomas, Graham Dorrans, Shane Long, Chris Brunt, Jonas Olsson, Youssuf Mulumbu, Steven Reid and Zoltan Gera but Hodgson insists there is no need to panic despite slipping to 15th on the Premier League table.
"But it is all ifs and buts, if the right player becomes available, if the price is right.
"I don't intend to panic in any way. Yes, it is unfortunate to have as many players out as we did against Tottenham and now Cardiff.
"The one thing I'm always conscious of when signing new players is what is going to happen when the injured player gets fit again.
"It's then a question of, 'How is he going to fit in, where will his place be in the pecking order?'
"It is an incredible luxury to sign players on two-year contracts when you only need them for three weeks.""We are all in agreement that if people were out there that would really help us, and we could get them at a normal and not a January-inflated price, the club would be keen to do something," he said.
