West Bromwich Albion No2 Keith Downing doesn't believe Steve Clarke holds a grudge against Capital One Cup opponents Liverpool.

Clarke was dismissed as Brendan Rodgers took over at Liverpool. But he gained immediate revenge with an opening day 3-0 win over the 10-man Reds.

Now Clarke wants the trophy he helped Dalglish win last season.

Albion assistant Keith Downing added: "He's accepted the Liverpool decision but it worked out great for him as it gave him the opportunity to manage. He's always wanted that."
