West Brom move to trump Stoke for Diouf

West Bromwich Albion are attempting to hijack Stoke City's deal for Mame Biram Diouf.

The Hannover striker was at Stoke over the weekend to finalise terms with Potters boss Mark Hughes, but left without signing a contract.

The People says West Brom are now stepping in for Diouf, who is coming off contract at Hannover next month.

Stoke remain favourites to land the former Manchester United forward.
