West Bromwich Albion chief Dan Ashworth says Claudio Yacob will be a midfield first-choice.
Yacob has been backed to make his mark in England.
"He plays more as a holding midfield player," Ashworth told Express & Star. "He doesn't tend to get too many goals or get beyond the front players but certainly he sits in there as a controlling midfield player.
"He is good with the ball with long or short passes, good at breaking up play and he will be a great asset to us.
"Paul Scharner was great for us for two years. He was very dynamic and perhaps a bit more of a threat from set-plays.
"Claudio is a little bit more of a passing central midfielder than Paul was, but Paul has other strengths and attributes."
