West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel admits he wasn't consulted ahead of the departure of Dave McDonough.
McDonough, who put Mel's name forward to succeed Steve Clarke, was replaced as director of technical performance and scouting by David Gomez, Mel's assistant at Real Betis.
Asked if he was consulted on McDonough's removal, Mel said: "No. I thank him for the way he worked with me."
