Tony Pulis was full of praise for Rickie Lambert after he inspired West Bromwich Albion to a 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Sunday.
The 33-year-old striker came off the bench to supply the equalising goal - via a Winton Reid deflection - as the Baggies held on the first half before going level in the 50th minute.
Pulls admits his Albion side may have found themselves further down at the break on any other day but was thrilled to see Lambert, who has managed just three Premier League starts since joining from Liverpool last summer, motivate the side to a well-earned draw.
"We were fortunate to get in the dressing room at half-time only 1-0 down, and then it was time for Rickie," said Pulis.
"He's a great professional. He has not played as much as he would have liked but his attitude is fantastic. The lads want to play and that's something you have to deal with.
"Rickie is a throwback to the times when footballers cared about football, and he cares. He has been a terrific signing for this football club."
