West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is happy with what he's seen from new signing Goran Popov.
Clarke watched his latest recruit play for Macedonia in the 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night. Although the result was not what the Scot wanted, the game did give him a chance to see the 27-year-old in competitive action.
"He flew straight out and met up with Macedonia so we haven't seen much of him (since he signed)," Clarke told the Birmingham Mail.
"But he is another experienced defender who is good on the ball and passes it well.
"As well as being comfortable with passing the ball he is also physical.
"He's a good size for the Premier League, he's good in the air and a good defender.
"We spent the whole window trying to get another defender in and Goran fits the type of defender I was looking for, so I'm really pleased to get him."
