Werder Bremen keeper Wiese in Man Utd sights

Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese is interesting Manchester United.

The News of the World says Wiese, 26, is still rated in the £5million bracket by his club and Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for top-class goalkeeping cover.

Edwin van der Sar has only one or two seasons left. And while Ben Foster seems to be the heir apparent, Fergie wants another option - with Wiese catching the eye of his European scouts.

Wiese has drawn comparisons with Oliver Kahn but is prone to the odd error. He made a shocking blunder against Rangers in this season's UEFA Cup and was also blamed for Werder Bremen's 2006 Champions League exit.
