Werder Bremen admit they're attempting to thrash out a deal for Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro.

"We are intensively working on having him here for the new season and potentially also for more than just the new campaign," revealed general manager Klaus Allofs.

"He is a great striker and has shown what he can do for the club."
