Werder 3-0 Inter: Bremen take all three points but not enough to eliminate reigning champs

BREMEN: German Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have managed a solid 3-0 win over a second string Inter Milan to end their time in this season's Champions League.

Inter made a number of changes to their line-up and it proved decisive as Bremen completely dominated proceedings but it didn't do any damage to the Nerazzurri's progress to the next phase.

Sebastian Prodl kicked things off with a 39th header from a Torsten Frings aerial ball before Marko Arnautovic made it 2-0 four minutes into the second half when he volleyed home in spectacular fashion against the club he was loaned to last term.

A third came for the home side with two minutes remaining from Claudio Pizarro to compound the misery for Inter who finished a point behind Tottenham in Group A whilst tonight's victors were resigned to the bottom after their only win of the group stage.
