Wenger will not sacrifice Arsenal's FA Cup campaign at Man Utd

Arsene Wenger is determined to field his strongest possible Arsenal XI in Monday night's FA Cup quarter-final.

The Gunners take on Manchester United at Old Trafford and Wenger is intent on taking the clash seriously after placing his focus elsewhere in recent years.

?TheFrench tactician recalled a 4-0 loss to United in the cup back in 2008 and this time has vowed not to let his attention shift by putting in a first-choice line-up.

?"On the day we lost but we will not put the reserves out on Monday night," said Wenger.

?"I don't exactly remember the circumstances. The FA Cup was always badly positioned before the Champions League games so you always had decisions to make.

"A player who was a bit on the edge, [you think] 'what do you sacrifice?' It was always the FA Cup in the end. Sometimes as well I did not sacrifice the FA Cup years before and we paid the price because we lost one or two important players two or three days before an important game. That explains that.

"Sometimes as well we played the FA Cup after a big Champions League game away from home.

"Once you get to the quarter final you think that's a good opportunity to win a trophy. You want to do it, but it's at that stage where it's conflicting always with the Champions League.

?"Some teams play in the Champions League next week but they don't play in the FA Cup. Over the weekend, they can prepare properly for the Champions League so they might think is it one or the other."?
