Wenger simply focused on Arsenal's 'controllables'

Arsene Wenger says it would be careless to worry about other club's results as the Premier League title race continues.

Arsenal find themselves sitting second on the table, seven points behind Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

This weekend, the Gunners meet Reading in the FA Cup semi-final while the Blues host the in-form Manchester United but the Frenchman is not getting caught up in what Jose Mourinho's side do as they must focus on their job at hand.

"Mathematically, yes," replied Wenger when asked if the Gunners could clinch the title still. "But we have to win our games and we want to win our games, that is all we can do."

Quizzed further as to whether Arsenal would like to trade places with Chelsea, he added: "There is no question about swapping, we are not in a negotiation in our job, unfortunately.

"It's just that you do what you can do, as well as you can in every single competition. We have done well in the FA Cup and we want to continue our run."
