Wellington Phoenix striker Paul Ifill will have a scan today on his injured leg.
The Barbadian international had to be stretchered off early in his side's 4-0 win over Newcastle Jets on Saturday after he twisted his knee badly when shooting at goal but he fears that he may have broken a bone on his leg and hopes scans and X-rays today clear him of any serious damage.
"For the smaller bone, you need a scan to show up any fractures or breaks," Ifill said.
"The physio thinks that it might be a break in the smaller bone. It's sore from the ankle all the way up to the knee and my gut feeling is it's probably the little one, because I definitely felt something go. You think you know what you've done and I'd be surprised if it isn't that."
It will be a major blow if Ifill does have a break in his leg as the Phoenix revived their season on the weekend and are now back in the hunt for a finals finish but may be without their leading scorer for the run-in.
