Wellington Phoenix new boy Ward: The body is feeling good

Wellington Phoenix signing Nick Ward says his body is feeling the best it has in years.

The 25-year old midfielder left Melbourne Victory to join the Phoenix about two weeks ago and after a few seasons riddled with injuries, including both groins, he feels he is back to full health and ready to show his best with his new club.

"I've had a pretty rough run over the last three years with different injuries but I can say the body's fine at the moment," Ward said.

"The groins are the best they've ever been so I don't have to get treatment to get out on to the track. You just rock up to training and I can go out now which is great.

"For the first time in three years, since I was in England, I can go out on to the training field and run about, whereas before I was having to get loosened up and take anti-inflams and painkillers."

Ward made his debut for the Phoenix last week, coming on for the second half of the 2-1 loss to Perth Glory and will be hoping to make more of an impact when reigning champs Sydney FC come to town tomorrow.
