Wellington Phoenix have secured a top six finish with victory over North Queensland Fury today. Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic sealed the 3-1 win in injury time with a successful penalty to guarantee back-to-back finals campaigns for the Nix.
First half goals for Nix strikers Chris Greenacre and Dylan Macallister and a stoppage time penalty scored by Vukovic sealed the win at Westpac Stadium.
Fury's Brett Studman scored his side's goal, but was sent off in conceding the late penalty, for a foul on Phoenix striker Mirjan Pavlovic.
The win means Newcastle Jets cannot overtake the Phoenix regardless of the result of their match against Central Coast Mariners in Gosford later on Sunday.
The Kiwis will face Adelaide United in next week's finals game.
