Jeremy Brockie has been a great capture for the Wellington Phoenix according to head coach Ricki Herbert.
The 24-year old All Whites attacker returned home to New Zealand during the off-season following a decent individual campaign with the Newcastle Jets and Herbert feels he will bring plenty to the Phoenix squad this term.
"I think he's delighted to be back," Herbert told Sportal.
"He's sensed since he's been there that it's a very culturally strong place and he's thriving on it.
"He's scored 18 goals in the pre-season and has been striking the ball really well.
"We're just hoping that continues on. He seems settled and when that's the case it tends to help your game.
"I'm excited by what he might bring to us and I think the fans will be as well."
Brockie and the Phoenix kick-off their 2012/13 A-League campaign with a home fixture against Sydney FC and their new signing Alessandro Del Piero this weekend.
