Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is struggling to land top summer target Mario Gotze. The Daily Mail says Wenger's bold plan to try to lure Gotze to Arsenal has been dealt a crushing blow after the Borussia Dortmund midfielder's agent insisted he had no intention of leaving this summer.
In a further setback to the Gunners boss, sources close to one of Europe's most wanted talents insist his dream is to join Barcelona after one more season at the Westfalenstadion.
Manchester City have also been strongly linked with Gotze, amid recent claims in Germany that sporting director Txiki Begiristain had flown over to register their interest in the 20-year old.
"I am very happy at Dortmund and satisfied with the way we are progressing as a team," he said. "Any thoughts about playing for another team are very much for the future, but Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United could be interesting."
