Week late, but Man Utd boss Ferguson brands Carragher tackle on Nani a DISGRACE

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has broken his silence over Jamie Carragher's tackle on Nani.

Nani's camp was unhappy with the media blackout imposed by Ferguson after defeat at Liverpool, believing they should have gone public with their unhappiness with Carragher.

Ferguson said: "It was a disgraceful tackle but you move on. We sent Nani to hospital to see what they could do.

"Our own doctor and the surgeon there managed to stitch it up, which was fantastic.

"The alternative would have been just letting it heal. The problem with that, with an open wound, is infection."
