Wednesday record fifth home win on the bounce

Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson was delighted as his League One outfit recorded a fifth straight home league win with a 3-0 victory over Exeter at Hillsborough. "I'm delighted. I'm more than pleased because I thought Exeter paid us a huge compliment going with the shape they did and the way they set out to play," said Megson.

"It's not a criticism but it was a shape that was to not get beat and try and nick something.

"We struggled a little bit in the early stages to cope with it but I thought once we started passing the ball a lot quicker and more precisely, and started to get the ball out wide, we started to look much more like it and ran out really worthy winners."

Megson was also full of praise for Gary Madine after his two goals.

He continued: "He's now looking like the player he should be. He's worked hard and he's closed down. He's getting hold of the ball, he's winning headers and at the moment I've got no complaints with him. He can go on to be what he wants to be."
