We hope Cahill keeps scoring until January - Everton's Jagielka

Everton defender Phil Jagielka is hoping star midfielder Tim Cahill can continue his brilliant goalscoring form until at least January. The 31-year old will be in Qatar with the Australian national team competing in the Asian Cup for almost the entire month but Jagielka just hopes Cahill's scoring spree continues until then.

The former Millwall man has netted 8 of the Toffees' 18 goals in the league this term and Jagielka just wants him to keep going until he has to jet off with the Socceroos.

"Luckily for us Tim has done really well and kept us going with his goals, but we are all frustrated," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"Hopefully he gets all of his goals out of his system before he goes. But we can't look too far into the future and worry about January, the present is what we need to focus on.

"We can just hope that when he comes back he is rejuvenated as ever, has his spark and picks up again where he'll leave off."

Cahill is expected to miss a host of Premier League fixtures including West Ham United, Stoke City, Tottenham and the Merseyside derby with Liverpool on January 15.
