Chelsea captain John Terry believes Jose Mourinho deserves plenty of respect for leading the club to the brink of success.

The Blues defeated Leicester City 3-1 on Wednesday night to go within one victory of clinching the Premier League title and Terry suggests the 'Special One' should be recognised for the brilliant work he has done at Stamford Bridge since returning from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

"I think we have to give respect to the players and the manager," he said on Sky Sports.

"What he has done, the manager, with this side in two years has been different class.

"He deserves a lot of respect. We were the best side by far up until Christmas.

"We've been the best side all season. Ok, we've had to grind out results because teams get behind the ball and make it difficult for us.

"But the players and the manager, we deserve a lot of respect, we've been very good all year."

Chelsea only have to beat Crystal Palace at home on Sunday to hold aloft their fourth Premier League trophy.
