We are lacking quality - Reading's Federici

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici feels the team is lacking a touch of quality at the moment.

The Royals went down narrowly to Hull City 1-0 at Madejski Stadium on Saturday to fall to eighth on the Championship table following their second loss in their past three league outings and the Australian gloveman believes it is because of a slight lack of class.

"First half I felt we were really up for it, maybe we should have gone in front and put the game to bed then - but they came out second half and looked really decent," Federici told the club's official website.

"I'm not sure how many games they've won 1-0 but that's why, they've got that little bit of quality and it's something that we're lacking at the minute."

Reading meet 19th-placed Bristol City at home this coming weekend and Federici sees it as a great opportunity to bounce back from the disappointing performance against Hull.

"It's a big game, Bristol City would have felt a bit hard done by last time we played them and it's going to be a very tough game," he said referring to Reading's come-from-behind 3-2 win at Ashton Gate in September.

"They're a good quality side and I don't think they should be where they are in the league. They've got some really good players, but it's good to have an opportunity for us to bounce back at home."
