Watford's on-loan Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson admits he's eager to avoid comparisons with Stewart Downing.
A lot of people say we're similar but I don't think we really are similar sorts of players.
"There's been a few players I try to emulate - Ryan Giggs was a good one when I was younger that I used to look up to and try to play like.
"Now it's the likes of Ronaldo - attacking wingers who get at people. You could say Messi, even though he's only a year older than me.
"But it's people like that who I'm watching and hopefully going to be as good as one day.
"Being compared to Stewart isn't a bad thing - he's played for England, and hopefully I can do that one day and follow in his footsteps."
