Watford have signed former West Ham forward Alessandro Diamanti on a season-long loan from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, subject to receiving international clearance.

The 32-year-old Italian international spent the second half last season on loan at Serie A side Fiorentina, and has also played for Italian clubs Bologna, Brescia and Livorno.

Diamanti spent a season at West Ham, scoring eight goals in 30 games and being voted runner-up for the Hammers' 2009/10 Player of the Year award.
