Watford are not interested in signing French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, according to the Watford Observer.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Hornets in some quarters of the French media recently but the Premier League returnees are not in pursuit of his services.

Gourcuff is currently a free agent after his contract with Ligue 1 club Lyon ran out in the summer.

The French midfielder, once hailed as a successor to Zinedine Zidane, has seen his career spiraled down due to his constant struggles with the injuries.

He scored three league goals in 17 league appearances for Lyon last season.
