Watford boss Gracia praises strike-pair after beating Leicester

Watford boss Javi Gracia was delighted with his strikers for their 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Andre Gray and Troy Deeney both struck for the victory.

Asked about Deeney's display, Gracia said: “I think he was important, the second goal assistance, but today with the challenge with (Harry) Maguire, with (Wes) Morgan, with (Jonny) Evans it's not easy and I think he showed his quality. He was very important as usual for the team."

This was the second successive home game in which Gray has come off the bench to net the winner, having secured the 1-0 win against Everton, and Gracia said: “When he plays, he's always good for the team because in the time he's playing he's only thinking of the way to help the team. He's scored two important goals for the team.

“It's important for us to know all the players are ready for the rest of the season and all of them deserve more time. I've told you many times, but it's true, all of them deserve more time to play but I have to choose and when I put other players on the pitch I know his quality, I trust him and I know what they are able to do.

“It's good for us and we are in this position because all of them, without exception, are working very hard, they have a high commitment with the club."
