Manchester City have defeated Toronto FC 1-0 in their international friendly at BMO Field.

Over 23,000 fans looked on as 20-year old midfielder George Evans produced a world-class finish from range in the 84th minute.

City had the better of the chances in the first half after making all the play before Toronto were inches wide in the 83rd minute when Manu Aparicio saw his effort whiz by the wrong side of the post.

But Evans stepped up to force a result with an inch-perfect effort from 25 yards to give the English visitors the victory.

City next take on Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on Thursday night.
