A video has emerged that appears to show Burnley midfielder Danny Drinkwater aiming a headbutt at a rival footballer on a dance floor on the night he was attacked.

Drinkwater was left with ankle and facial injuries following an assault on a night out in Manchester on August 31.

It is not known whether the two incidents are related.

During the night at the Chinawhite club, Drinkwater is alleged to have attempted to chat up the girlfriend of Scunthorpe United footballer Kgosi Ntlhe.

New footage obtained by the Daily Star appears to show Drinkwater put Ntlhe in a headlock while on the dance floor of the venue.

There is no suggestion that Ntlhe was involved in the attack which followed outside of the nightclub and police were not called to the incident, which was not reported by Drinkwater.

During that attack, Drinkwater was reportedly attacked by six thugs who shouted 'break his legs'.
