Wales boss Coleman: Hull defender Chester Premier League class

Wales manager Chris Coleman has stated his belief that Hull City defender James Chester is too good to be playing in the Championship.

Despite Hull's bitter relegation from the Premier League, Chester performed exceptionally well throughout the course of the campaign and it is believed that the defender will earn a move back to the Premier League this summer with the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion said to be interested in his services.

Wales boss Coleman has gone on to praise Chester's qualities as a player and has insisted that the defender is good enough to continue in the Premier League next season.

Coleman told Wales Online: "A lot of international football is the mental challenge when you're up against the best strikers in the world. Nothing can happen for long periods and then something can happen very quickly and you're asked a serious question.

"If you don't think quickly, you'll get found out. James is good at that, he's good one versus one, he's a fantastic athlete and he's got a fantastic mentality so of course he's good enough to be in the Premier League.

"Being relegated does stay with you, it's a horrible feeling, but he has the chance to finish the season on a real positive with us and I'd have no worries about him."
