French giants Paris Saint-Germain suggest that Carlos Tevez's wage demands were the main reason why a winter deal did not occur.
The Parisian outfit were in pursuit of the Argentine striker in January after his bust-up with manager Roberto Mancini but PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi says that the player wanted too much money.
"If the transfer was not sorted out, it was not because he didn't want to come, but because we didn't accept his wage demands," Al-Khelaifi told Bild.
"He wanted to come. We don't pay too big wages to our players. Last winter Carlos Tevez asked too much and didn't match the club's philosophy. So we refused."
