Perth Glory has appointed Western Australia coaching legend Graham Normanton to the role of WA Recruitment Manager.
Normanton, WA's most successful senior coach will report directly to Perth Glory Coach Ian Ferguson.
"I'm looking forward to the role and feel I have something to offer," Normanton said.
"I think we have more talent in the WA State Premier League than we give it credit for."
The newly created position will see Normanton concentrate on identifying players from the All Flags State Premier League.
"With additional training and improved health advice, I feel there are players who can step up to play with Perth Glory in the Hyundai A-League.
"The aim is to see more WA talent involved in Perth Glory than what currently exists at the moment," he added.
Normanton also described the role as exciting and said it was the next step in his coaching career after stunning success as the senior Coach with Perth SC.
In a phenomenal 11 year reign, Normanton won a staggering 22 trophies including 5 league premierships.
Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly said the role was crucial to the long term viability of Perth Glory.
"We need to continually develop West Australian talent from the All Flags State League and give them the best opportunities to play for Perth Glory," Kelly said.
"Graham is definitely the best person to identify these players.
"His record as a coach is impeccable and he complements Ian Ferguson and Gareth Naven to give us a more complete coaching structure.
As a player, Normanton also scaled great heights, representing WA 11 times and playing against Nottingham Forrest. Normanton played for Perth Azzuri, North Perth Croatia, Kingsway Olympic and Bayswater.
