Viviano on ex-teammate Fernandes: Man Utd needed his leadership; his explosion no surprise

Karagumruk goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano says he isn't surprised by Bruno Fernandes' success with Manchester United.

Viviano played with Fernandes at Sampdoria and Sporting CP.

He recalled to TMW: "I was very supportive when he arrived in Genoa.

"Bruno always had everything, but in Italy he has evolved a lot in terms of intensity and tactical issues. His explosion was not a surprise, because he plays with his right foot, with left, he has strength and an inexhaustible lung.

"He is also a leader and United needed this."
