Vitesse coach Letsch: We were best team against Spurs over both legs

Vitesse Arnhem coach Thomas Letsch was full of pride after their Europa Conference League defeat at Tottenham.

Despite losing 3-2, Letsch insists they were the better team.

He said: "We have created far more chances than anyone expected from us here at Tottenham. I think we were the better team in both games. And we won once and now we have lost by a goal. We can be proud. I feel two things: disappointment and pride.

“I'm really proud of how we played. It was good in the beginning. But we made sloppy mistakes in the back, which are punished by players of this quality."

Letsch continued, “At 3-0 I got a strange feeling, I dare to admit that. But we kept to the plan, didn't give up and Rasmussen's quick goal was important. And after that we only played better."
