Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas was thrilled to see Jermain Defoe score a match-winning brace on Thursday night.
The diminutive striker scored in the 21st and 29th minutes as Spurs opened their Europa League account with a 3-0 home win over Tromso ILand his performance, linking up with Lewis Holtby and Erik Lamela, was not lost on his boss.
"What he's capable of we know - I think his record speaks for itself," the Villas-Boas of Defoe.
"He's been keeping himself sharp and fit and he's been excellent tonight once again on his movements, on his diagonals, two great assists from Lewis (Holtby), and (Erik) Lamela but great movement also.
"I'm very pleased in general for the boys' performance."
