Villarreal are exploring the prospect of signing Tottenham winger Giovani dos Santos.
Super Deportes says Villarreal do not have the finances to meet Tottenham's £7 million asking price and instead are seeking a partner club to take the Mexican in co-ownership.
Tottenham are eager to sell Giovani this month and the midfielder is also being followed by Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
