Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi has rejected a lucrative offer from Rubin Kazan.

AS says the new Russian champions were willing to pay €20 million to Villarreal for the Italy international, but the offer was given short shrift by Rossi.

Also on the table was a contract worth €4 million-a-year, but it still wasn't enough to convince Rossi about moving to Russia.

Villarreal chiefs seriously considered the offer, but have respected Rossi's decision.
