Villarreal have joined Sevilla in their interest for Sporting Lisbon striker Liedson.

Sevilla sports chief Monchi has opened talks with Sporting over Liedson's availability in recent weeks.

However, they now face competition from Villarreal, which have received encouragement from Liedson's minders since making their interest known.
