Villarreal midfielder Etienne Capoue is delighted with his new deal.
Capoue penned fresh terms to 2024 this week.
He told the club's website: "I'm very happy to have extended my contract with Villarreal. I'm very happy here, I have a great relationship with my team-mates and the staff at the club.
“On an individual level, the objective, like always, is to play, to enjoy life and to enjoy football. On a collective level, we are really excited about the Copa del Rey and the Conference League, but we also want to have a good season in LaLiga.
“My best moment as a Villarreal player, obviously, is the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United. I also remember fondly the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. No-one thought we could knock them out, and even less in their stadium, but we did it and it was an incredible night."
He added: “I'm very happy to be here for two more years. I can't wait to see everyone happy at the new Estadio de la Cerámica, where we'll win a lot of games for sure, and we will have big things to celebrate."
