Villarreal fullback Moreno sends message to Liverpool fans after defeating Man Utd

Villarreal fullback Alberto Moreno had a message for Liverpool fans after winning the Europa League.

Moreno was a second half substitute in the final against Manchester United, and scored from the penalty spot in the mammoth shootout that followed the 1-1 draw.

After Gerard Moreno and Edinson Cavani swapped goals in normal time, 22 penalties were taken in a shootout that stood at 11-10 to Villarreal when United goalkeeper David de Gea saw his kick saved by opposite number Geronimo Rulli.

That sparked joyous celebrations among the Spanish side, with Moreno taking to his Instagram story to celebrate after the victory.

On one section of the video Moreno, who played 141 times for Liverpool between 2014 and 2019, winning the Champions League two years ago, shouts "You'll Never Walk Alone" down the camera in a message well received by Reds supporters.

Former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva also tweeted a message to Moreno, saying "congratulations little brother."
