Villarreal have tabled a £3 million bid for Olympique Lyon fullback Fabio Grosso.
The Italy international is tied to the French giants until 2011, but Lyon coach Claude Puel won't stand in Grosso's way should he choose to move on.
Villarreal already boast one Italian - Giuseppe Rossi - on their books.
