Juan Villalonga intends to challenge Ramon Calderon for the Real Madrid presidency.
Villalonga had a short stint in charge at Valencia and also played a role in Real's sale of Robinho to Manchester City on transfer deadline day.
"I want to present an alternative project to the shareholders. If there were to be no alternative, it would be the worst thing that could happen. I see no reason why elections cannot go ahead, I would love to have three or four candidates," said Villalonga.
"The model to emulate is Florentino Perez. He's a landmark."
On players, Villalonga refused to offer names, but said: "Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka are always players who should play at Real Madrid. Offering names would be just populist. The coach will be decided by the sports director."
