Aston Villa have made an offer for Blackburn Rovers winger David Bentley.

The Daily Mail says Villa have tabled a £10m offer for Bentley. Martin O'Neill followed up his capture of Steve Sidwell from Chelsea by stepping up his efforts to land the unsettled England international.

Bentley was reportedly a target for Spurs but O'Neill has decided to test Paul Ince's resolve to keep hold of the former Arsenal trainee.
